Cleanrooms for Renewable Energy

When most people think of renewable energy they think of windmills, solar panels and EV (electrified vehicles).  At AdvanceTEC we think of cleanrooms for hyper-pure polysilicon, cleanrooms for ion lithium battery fabrication, and cleanrooms for materials science searching for the next energy efficient nano-materials.  We think of harnessing the power of the sun, storing it efficiently, and transporting it to its point of use at the speed of light.  AdvanceTEC’s Cleanroom Integration expertise has been successfully leveraged by clients in the renewable energy and energy distribution space.

Renewable Energy Cleanroom Considerations

AdvanceTEC’s Cleanroom Integration has led some of the most advanced efforts for renewable energy industry. While each client and project has been different, there are key attributes that are common across the market.
General Cleanroom Design Considerations
  • Trace metals cleanrooms
  • Analytical trace metals labs
  • Temperature, humidity, static control
  • Ultra-low humidity clean dry rooms
  • Airflow arrangements
  • HVAC configurations
  • BMS (Building Management Systems) controls
  • Ultra-high purity water (ASTM E1, ASTM E1.1, ASTM E1.2)
  • Ultra-high purity gases and orbital welded stainless
  • Vibration abatement
  • Scrubbed exhaust
  • Waste abatement
  • Gowning and cleaning protocols

Renewable Energy Cleanroom Specifications

Specifications vary based on the technology pursuit and the required process requirements.  Typical renewable energy processes can be performed in a mix of ISO 5 (Class 100) or ISO 6 (Class 1,000) environment to an ISO 7 (Class 10,000) or ISO 8 (Class 100,000) environment base on project requirement.  Provided below are typical specifications:
ISO Classification
  • ISO 4 – (Class 10) – 300-540 ACH
  • ISO 5 – (Class 100) – 240-480 ACH
  • ISO 6 – (Class 1,000) – 150-240 ACH
  • ISO 7 – (Class 10,000) – 60-90  ACH
  • ISO 8 – (Class 100,000) – 5-48 ACH

Let's Get Started

What does your process require?
ISO Classification, environmental performance (temperature, humidity, vibration)? What else is important to your process and future success?
What are your required process utilities?
Gases, ultra-pure water, exhaust (general, corrosive, solvent), process power, process waste abatement?
What base utilities & capacities do you have available?
Electric, chilled water, hot water, steam, or none of the above?
What is your schedule?
When do you have to get your budget in place?  When do you need to get started?
What is your budget?
Need help budgeting right now?  Why have some “designer” or consultant design something you can’t afford?
