Richmond, VA, March 5, 2013 – AdvanceTEC, a leader in cleanroom design and construction, today announced that it has initiated Cleanroom Construction for the City University of New York’s (CUNY) Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC). Located south end of the City College campus in Upper Manhattan and slated for opening in 2014, the ASRC is a part of CUNY’s decade-long, multibillion-dollar commitment to becoming a national leader in visionary scientific research of vital, real-world consequence. The ASRC will focus on five dynamic fields of applied science: Nanotechnology, Photonics, Structural Biology, Neuroscience and Environmental Sciences.
Since its selection last fall, AdvanceTEC has been performing preconstruction services, and has recently mobilized the site for “clean build” construction. As a part of this project, AdvanceTEC is providing coordinated building information modeling (BIM), complete turn-key cleanroom construction and clean build protocol services for the project, including state-of- the-art process utilities infrastructure and the integration of high purity piping, gas cabinets, and ultra-pure water. AdvanceTEC is working in concert with the full project team, lead by Skanska Building USA. .
“AdvanceTEC is proud to be a part of this landmark project for CUNY, and confident in the instrumental role we will play in the project’s success,” noted Bryan Phelan, AdvanceTEC managing partner and director of sales, marketing and preconstruction services. “Key to our selection for the ASRC was our ability to demonstrate complete turn-key cleanroom competency and the project execution strategy to perform this cutting-edge project in a challenging logistical site. At the end of the day, it’s all about mobilizing our team of experts to the site in the proper sequence to bring our unique value to the project and achieve our customer’s vision.”.
