AdvanceTEC Winner of Emerging Company Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AdvanceTEC, a cleanroom contractor specializing in the microelectronics and biopharmaceutical market, is proud to announce that it is the winner of the Greater Richmond Technology Council 2004 Technology Awards in the category of Emerging Company. To be considered for the Ernst & Young Emerging Company award a company needs to epitomize what the award stands for: “a local technology company whose recent growth, accomplishments or prospects demonstrate the ability to achieve commercial success.”

Recently AdvanceTEC has been awarded contracts in excess of $25 million, having assimilated a backlog through mid 2005. AdvanceTEC has become a leader in designing and constructing Nanotechnology research facilities for customers such as The Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC, Purdue University, Penn State University, and The University of Maryland. Facilities developed for Nanotechnology Research will be pivotal in future research for chemical warfare, healthcare, and for cancer research and diagnosis.

“This success is due to creating strategic alliances with clients such as Turner Construction Company, Merck Pharmaceuticals, The US Navy, and The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).” AdvanceTEC’s Managing Partner, Tim Loughran, said. Loughran continued to say, “AdvanceTEC is proud to be selected for the Emerging Company Award. We have worked hard to make the company grow to what it is and will become. It is nice to be recognized for the work we have done. As a contractor we consider our product to be our people and our growth is directly attributable to the quality of our staff and their commitment to satisfying our customers.”

In its ninth year of presenting these awards, the Greater Richmond Technology Council received more than one hundred sixty nominees in the categories of:  Leadership, Emerging Company, Technology Innovation, Community Support, Technology SkillBuilder and IT Builders. The competition was narrowed down to five finalists in each category, with one winner selected at the Gala Awards Banquet on Wednesday, May 12, 2004.

AdvanceTEC is a designer and builder of cleanrooms and process systems contractor working within the microelectronics, biotech, semiconductor, medical, food, and pharmaceutical industries. The company has designed and constructed over 1,000,000 sq. ft. of cleanroom space from Class 1 to 100,000. Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, the $15 million company is on track to double their billings in the next 2 years. AdvanceTEC is privately owned company, managed by partners Tim Loughran and John Burton.
